Failure to perform proper mechanical or electrical Lockout/Tagout can lead to electrocution, electrical shock, arc-flash, and other hazards. In addition to huge penalties, these hazards often result in lost time wages, compensation claims, permanent disability, and fatalities.
Our Voltage Test Station makes electrical safety simple by allowing you to perform your Lockout/Tagout the same way you do today; without having to open the cabinet door and create exposure to high incident energy.
The Voltage Test Station exceeds the NFPA 70e and OSHA standards by enabling the verification of released stored energy using our Voltage Indicator; and the ability to test for absence of voltage with our Safe-Test point during your Lockout/Tagout procedures.
The Voltage Test Station (VTS) combines our Safe-Test Point and Voltage Indicators conveniently placed within our GracePort protective housings. It is a Permanent Electrical Safety Device (PESD) that allows workers a safer way to verify presence of voltage and perform an Absence of Voltage Test from outside the electrical cabinet.
The Voltage Test Station can be hardwired directly to energy sources and allows for visual verification of de-energized voltage; and measurement of AC/DC voltage either phase-to-phase or phase-to-ground through a meter test. The two devices are independently connected to the same source providing a redundancy check for additional safety.
The Voltage Test Station can be wired directly to the load or line side of voltage sources and/or hardwired onto the bus below the fuses to measure a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
Adding this PESD combination unit wherever you perform mechanical or electrical Lockout/Tagout will significantly reduce the risk associated with a volume of injuries and fatalities each year. Here are just a few recommended locations:
