Our Accounting Controller, Hana Strickler, is a #Disruptor. As part of a recent DisruptHR event presented by the MRA, an association that helps businesses thrive by creating powerful teams and safe, successful workplaces, Hana presented on behalf of Grace our contribution of disruption to the HR space.
In collaboration with the MRA, DisruptHR hosts a traveling series of events that recently came through the Quad Cities. The event is designed to energize, inform, and empower people in the HR field. When they come through town, they're looking for up to 14 speakers from local businesses to present what they're doing differently at their workplace and why it works.
At the beginning of the year, we took a bold new direction in our Paid Time Off (PTO) policy. As the person in charge of overseeing payroll, Hana was among those at the forefront of this policy change and became the perfect candidate to present the practical perception of this emerging ideology in the workplace.
At Grace we’re constantly seeking new ways to challenge the status quo when fostering our company culture. The most recent exercise of this thought came in the form of an unlimited PTO (A.K.A. Responsible Time Off).
With our business being a large proponent of the Pareto Principle, where 20% of the effort should equal 80% of the results, Responsible Time Off extends both ways with an employee and their respective manager ensuring that their tasks are covered and deadlines are consistently met.
