A: There are options that are specific to the equipment that the PESD is being wired into that can allow for a UL Approved connection. These include:
-
Multi-Tap Lugs (often sold as an accessory for the disconnect or equipment being wired into)
-
Using a One or Two Hole Crimp Lug and Ring Terminal for Grace PESD Wire (How Do I Connect the PESD to my Equipment?)
-
Power Distribution Blocks that allow for a current carrying conductor(s) and PESD
We have tens of thousands, if not 100's of thousands, of PESDs in the field that have been wired into all different types of equipment, power systems, and areas in the power distribution network. We encountered many different methods of wiring, such as using a male Sta-Kon® and terminating with the current carrying conductor in the lug. These alternative methods may or may not comply with UL or other governing bodies so we cannot recommend them for any specific application. Consulting with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to ensure that appropriate connections are made is always recommended.
