Q: What is the GraceSense Predictive Maintenance Wireless Network Topology?

A: The GraceSense Predictive Maintenance wireless network topology is a self-healing star topology. The CloudGate acts as the hub or center of the star. It can take many nodes over an IEEE 802.15.4 (Zigbee Compatible) wireless communication. The CloudGate then connects via Wi-Fi or LTE to the cloud.

If there was a situation where the CloudGate went down (due to a panel being powered down or similar), the nodes that typically send data to that CloudGate will automatically look for a new parent. They will then continue to send the information this way until the normal CloudGate is back online.

If there is not another CloudGate within range of the node, the node will be able to backup the data. All nodes have onboard storage that can typically store days of information. When the cloud connection resumes, the node will report the backlogged data to the CloudGate.
