Q: What happens if my battery dies?
A: When nodes report into the CloudGate, they send the battery level information to be pushed to the cloud. We also have a preset Trigger (alert) that can be assigned to any node. This will send a text or email to maintenance technicians or other appropriate personnel to replace the battery. Other customers choose to review the battery levels on a periodic basis and replace the batteries that are starting to get low.
If an application is especially critical, the node can be hooked up to a power source (24V, or 120V) and have battery backup. CloudGates should always be connected to a power source as they use more power than the nodes.
