Introducing the ChekVolt for Absence of Voltage Testing and Voltage Presence Indication

Voltage Presence? Chek. Voltage Absence? Chek.

While performing routine maintenance, a voltage verification test is required per NFPA 70E to establish and verify an electrically safe work condition. This process poses numerous risks and includes various steps to meet compliance. The ChekVolt allows you to test voltage inside the enclosure without opening the door and provides a visual indication of voltage presence, enabling a safe and more productive means of conducting mechanical and electrical Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

The ChekVolt is a compact Permanent Electrical Safety Device (PESD) that features voltmeter-compatible test points and redundant LED voltage presence indicators that are rated up to 1000 VAC/VDC. The device is installed through a single 30mm knockout and includes lead wires, making installation quick and simple.

ChekVolt Features & Benefits:

  • Improves safety and productivity when isolating voltage for maintenance
  • Voltage indicator LEDs illuminate when voltage is present at the source
  • Allows users to safely test phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground for absence of voltage
  • Efficient installation through a 30mm knockout and wired directly to the voltage source
This PESD is designed to work directly with a qualified electrician’s portable voltmeter and provides the user a safer method of testing for absence of voltage through high impedance-protected test points. ChekVolt is uniquely designed for LOTO procedures and enhances compliance with the steps outlined in NFPA 70E Article 120.5: Process for Establishing and Verifying an Electrically Safe Work Condition.
