Grace Technologies' Business Development Team, Chris Schneck and Nick Augustine, met with Engineering Team Lead, Eric Norton, to explore how ChekVolt's inception is rooted deeply in safety-by-design principles.
The ChekVolt addresses the critical safety concerns of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, specifically designed to answer the essential question: "Is there voltage?" Complying with NFPA 70E/CSAZ462, it ensures an electrically safe work condition by allowing voltage testing without exposing workers to potential arc flash and shock hazards, as required by NFPA 70E Article 120.5.
This innovative Permanent Electrical Safety Device (PESD) not only streamlines the verification process by cutting down LOTO procedure time significantly—users report savings of 35-40 minutes per procedure—but also enhances safety. It features a touch-safe design with voltmeter-compatible test points and redundant LED voltage presence indicators, supporting voltages up to 1000 VAC/VDC.
Designed for easy installation via a single 30mm knockout and equipped with four lead wires embedded in its structure, the ChekVolt ensures durability and reliability, even in the toughest environments, making LOTO operations safer, smarter, and more efficient.
