Hot Spot Monitor (HSM) Introduction Video
NFPA 70B, Chapter 17.9 on Loose Connections: "Excessive heat in a circuit breaker can cause a malfunction in the form of nuisance tripping and possibly an eventual failure. Loose connections are the most common cause of excessive heat. Periodic maintenance checks should involve checking for loose connections or evidence of overheating..."
Grace Technologies is pleased to announce the GraceSense™ Hot Spot Monitor (HSM); a continuous thermal monitoring device intended for locations that are difficult and hazardous to access. The HSM utilizes patented fiber optic technology to provide constant temperature data from up to nine or eighteen independent sources (depending on the HSM model). The non-conductive fiber optical probes can be mounted onto busbars, splices, disconnects, cable connections, or any source of resistive heat.
