Q: Do I need overcurrent protection fuses with my voltage indicator?
A: The NEC and UL 508A do not mandate the installation of overcurrent protective device(s) in circuits supplying PESD conductors. While such installations are permissible, we strongly advise against it. Installing overcurrent protective devices could compromise the functionality of the PESDs. A tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse for these conductors may result in the PESD giving a false reading. This can pose significant risks to anyone relying on the PESD to ascertain the presence or absence of voltage
