I am sitting home writing this post as the wind howls outside and the snow accumulates. We are getting our first decent snow storm in the last two winters, and I couldn’t be happier. I love snow. I especially love snow just before Christmas. It is beautiful and, once the storm passes, there is the amazing peace that settles. My favorite time after a snow storm is the following morning just when the sun begins to peek out. It is so peaceful…
So, now we are officially at the last work day before the holidays. If you are like me, you still have a little Christmas shopping left. I have a few extra things to get and then, wrapping. Oy vey. I wish I had an elf or two to come and help me!! I am always excited to wrap the first two, but then the fun wears off and I get impatient. I cut the paper too fast and it either tears or cuts crooked. The tape revolts against me and folds over itself around my finger leaving me one-handed as I try to keep the paper where it needs to be and de-tape myself. Inevitably I end up using my teeth to get the tape off and I try to spit it out and it’s tape, so, you know, it sticks. It’s quite a scene that’s for sure. I am not the best wrapper, either. It starts off okay and descends to looking like it was wrapped by a clumsy child. Pretty soon I will just fold down the sides of the bag and put a bow on it. Oh well…it’s the thought that counts, right? 🙂
Well, guys, it’s been an awesome year. I will be off until January 3rd, so we will be taking a short hiatus from HumpDay. But, absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? Well, if it doesn’t then we will bribe you for your affection. When I come back we will have some super-duper giveaway!!
I have a little funny to share with you today…it’s an oldie but a goodie. It is many members of Team Grace singing (well, sort of) the 12 Days of Christmas, Electrical Safety Style!
Now, I’d like to pause and truly wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. As a Christian company we’d like to turn our hearts heavenward and remember the reason for the season, and that is Jesus Christ. May the hope and peace of this season reign in all your hearts. God bless you!
